This is a fine looking week for comics.

I did end up jumping on the Man-Thing train seeing that it was a mini-series. I’m willing to see what R.L. Stine can do with this book for another four issues. The first one was fun and tacky which is, somehow, exactly what I expected and wanted from him on this book.

The Old Guard and Lazarus are in the “Rucka Corner” for me this month and I am 100% on board. The Old Guard had an action packed start and I have about 137 questions, so I look forward to having them all answered over the coming months. As for Lazarus… oh boy, this is a book I am excited to have back. Nothing more to be said there. Go read Volume 1 if you haven’t already.

Animosity already hurdled a huge story arc (or beat?) and it has me seriously wondering what the endgame of this book is–in a very, very good way. This is by far not what I was expecting and I am extremely happy about that.

All-New X-Men is getting a send off issue, I guess? I really wasn’t sure how Marvel was planning to wrap up all of the existing X-books post-IvX, but if Extraordinary X-Men #20 was an indicator, it’s a quick sign off leading up to the next books (X-Men Blue, X-Men Gold, etc.).

Shipwreck is still a mind fuck. Still not sure what the goal of this book is outside of being very vague and mysterious. Issue #5 dropped some serious hints, but I’m still not certain about what’s what in this series. Seeing that this is the final issue, I’m guessing all (or most) will be revealed.
