The final days of May are upon us, but comics care not for the simplistic restraints known as time…
What’s on YOUR Pull List?
Kate Skocelas
- Bitch Planet Vol. 2: President Bitch
- Lazarus Vol. 5: Cull
- Gamora #5
- Doctor Aphra #7
Bitch Planet has FINALLY ARRIVED!!! Do I remember any of the characters in this series? Nope. It’s been a year and half since Vol. 1 came out, so this will definitely be a re-read mandatory type situation. Lazarus is also out, because Image loves us.
Rounding out my badass-ladies-in-comics week are Gamora and Doctor Aphra.
Nicole Perlman and Marco Checchetto are absolutely knocking it out of the ballpark on Gamora; It is the perfect example of what an action comic should be. There are a ton of incredible fight and chase scenes, but the story is complex and dynamic. It never feels like Gamora is just punching her way from point A to point B in the plot. I recommend this series to anyone who loves comics, Guardians of the Galaxy fan or not.

Cable was my pick of the week on the show, so check that tomorrow for my thoughts on this new x-book.
I’m way behind on Dept. H. After this week, though, it’ll be nice to sit down and read a bunch of issues from this series. It is pretty stellar.
Moon Knight has been building to an end I’m not sure I’m ready for. I know Lemire will end this run right so I’m both excited and sad to see it coming to a close. Nonetheless, it’s going to be superb.
Rat Queens has been weird weird weird. I don’t know how to judge this book yet. I’m giving it an arc.
Generation X was everything I wanted in a new X-book #1, so I’m pretty darn certain #2 will have me just as excited. Jubilee and a bunch of ornery teenagers? GIMME.
The Old Guard has continued to be an exciting, yet sad, tale. Rucka is kicking my butt with this book, and I’m loving it. I don’t know how long this series is supposed to go for, but if we only get 6-8 issues of kick-assery, I’m okay with that.
