Only once a week are we blessed with the book of comics, and we shall be merry for it…
What’s on YOUR Pull List?
Kate Skocelas
- Batman #22
- Jean Grey #1
- Hawkeye #6
- X-Men Gold #3
The first arc of Kelly Thompson and Leonardo Romero’s Hawkeye wraps up this week with Jessica Jones helping Kate Bishop on her first case. I love how much Kate hero-worships Jessica while staying her independent, take-charge self.
Falsh #21 was mystery-solving Batman at its prime with a gasp-inducing reveal at the end, so I have high hopes for the follow up Batman this week. Now watch it be 90% fighting again…
Mike Rapin
- Batman #22
- Black Bolt #1
- Jean Grey #1
- My Hero Academia Vol. 8
- Outcast #27
- Paper Girls #14
- Shipwreck #4
- Star Wars Poe Dameron #14
- X-Men: Gold #3
My pick of the week on the show was Black Bolt, so check out the show tomorrow for my thoughts on that.
Jean Grey is another X-Men book I’m trying. Not sure how I’m going to like it, but I’m definitely willing to try it. I have no idea what I’m getting in to, but it’s her first solo book and I’m game for it.
Shipwreck has been gone for a bit. Not sure why. Not sure my brain is into this book any more. Sort of reminds me of Ellis’ Supreme Blue Rose, which I ultimately was buying for Tula Lotay’s art and was very, very weird. I’m in it until the end (which I believe is #6), but I am totally not sure what is going on.
I’m too far behind on Batman to comment on any of the mess likely going on with “The Button.”
Star Wars: Poe Dameron has been a constant, escalating story with no real moment to breathe. It’s not bad so much as it’s a bit tiring, constantly being on the upward path.
